MATRUSRI DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL is a branch of the DAV group directly managed by DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. The school was started in the year 2010 in a temporary premise in Vivekananda Nagar Colony. It shifted its functioning to the new premises in Matrusri Nagar in 2011. The school runs from classes LKG to X presently with a strength of 1850. The school is affiliated to the CBSE and has plans for further growth in years to come. DAV Institutions in the Telangana Zone are ably managed under the efficient guidance of the Regional Director Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal-National Best teacher Awardee. The School administration and academics wing are headed by the Principal Mrs. K Anandavalli B.Sc., MA., M.Ed., under whose guidance and support the school has blossomed into a sought after school in the neighborhood. Her commitment to the cause of education and her passion for teaching is the driving force behind her. With a span of teaching experience of more than 20 years, she is the mentor, facilitator, and guide to her staff.

History of School
DAV(Dayanand Anglo Vedic) Educational Institutions were founded to commemorate and perpetuate the philosophy and work of Maharishi Dayanand Sarawati. Maharishi Dayananda drew his inspiration and strength from the Vedas and exhorted his fellow countrymen to study and regard the Vedas as their most precious treasure. He knew that evils rampant in the Hindu Society could be wiped out by the sweeping tide of intellectual enlightenment. With a call “Back to the Vedas”, he propounded the guiding principles of the Arya Samaj. The Arya Samaj aimed at cleaning the defunct and regressive practices in society. Animal sacrifice and the denouncement of idol worship were the major outcomes of this movement. This dream was translated into reality with the founding of the Dayanand Anglo Vedic College Trust and management society in 1885. The trust founded its first institution in Lahore in 1886 with Mahatma Hansraj as its founder Principal. Today the trust can legitimately take credit and pride of running more than 900.
